After three or four days of straight Green Drink juicing I decided my stomach was ready to handle the fibrous explosion of blended Green Drink. It is like juicing but you get all the roughage too!

Apples in my green drink

Since we are blending green drink this time I core and cut them into 4

Curly Kale was in season - green drink and kale

Curly Kale was in season however it is pretty, well – not full of juice. However I guess we cant look past the roughage

Handful of Baby Spinach in the green drink

Couple handfuls of baby spinach – I cut a bit more of the stem off than I would if this was just juicing situation

Start getting the green drink blended - your blender will thank you

Ginger - preferably peeled

I used this much ginger – however I probably should have peeled it

Added more Curly Kale to the green drink

Added more Curly Kale to the green drink – plus a coffee mug of water.

Trying out this wheat grass powder in my green drink

Trying out this wheat grass powder in my green drink – it is a whole wheat grass powder and not just a powder of the juice. That makes it cheaper and less tasty, but shit that shit is good for you. I used one heaping tablespoon.

Add wheatgrass powder to your Green Drink and blend

It was at this point that I decided to add another mug of water to thin it out a little as it was still pretty chunky.

It only made about 3/4 of a pint of green drink blend

It only made about 3/4 of a pint of green drink which was a huge difference when you consider how easy it is to gauge when to stop when you are simply juicing. Plus it is quite thick even after two mugs of water

So as you can tell from the pour video above, the blend is a bit thick.  I wont lie, it was thick as, well, a bunch of blended up greens and a little water.  However, although it was laborious to do I drank it anyway and as a result I felt really good.  There are a few things I would change for the next time, but if you were to use this recipe as a guide for your first Green Drink in a blender and not a juicer then I would suggest maybe adding a little more water or some other liquid that thins it out a little.  If you end up making something that is hard to choke down – then it is probably pretty good for you.  If you are thinking about quitting here and not drinking it well a wise man once said “quit being such a pussy and drink the green shit because you will feel better”.
